The idea in one sentence
Fratsen brings together the old love of Music Centre Records and artist and musician Erik Neimeijer: vintage hi-fi, good coffee, art on the walls and a carefully chosen vinyl collection. In short — the old Music Centre feeling is back, with a generous helping of good company.
Everything but the girl.Everything in the shop is for sale, the vintage hi-fi included. As are the records by the band of that name, as it happens.

The crowd behind Fratsen
Fratsen is built on well-known names and on an enthusiastic crowd who believe that music, vinyl, art and meeting one another deserve a permanent place in Nijverdal again — and who are happy to put their shoulders to it.
Built on well-known names and genuine enthusiasts
The legendary record shop of years past. Former owner Jan Scheppink came up with Fratsen — and is the beating heart beneath it.
Jan Leferink — the man who knows how good music ought to sound.
Read his profile from the newspaper →Partner for a new home for intimate, acoustic performances. ZINiN runs the theatre, the ZINema film house and the open-air theatre — and like Toi Toi, they are on our own Willem Alexanderstraat.
zinin.com →Our neighbours across the way, fifty metres along the same street, right beside the ZINiN Theatre. They take care of the coffee at Fratsen — because listening to records calls for something in your hand.
The living room of the town centre since 2007, and in March named Business of the Year 2026 by the municipality of Hellendoorn.
grandcafetoitoi.nl →Fratsen exists because a long line of people thought along, carried things, rebuilt walls and opened up their networks. Without them this would have stayed an empty building.
The people who made it possible
Makes sure the music sounds right and the technology keeps running.
vanderheiden.org →Combines music and technology with a healthy dose of digital mischief.
A dedicated tax adviser, long since working from his own office with his own outlook, and with an enormous love of music — immediately visible in that office.
A frequent concertgoer, from Elton John to Green Day and from Dua Lipa to Bente.
‘Vinyl is music and art you can hold. All music is emotion, and a hook for fine memories.’
bladderfiscaal.nl →Why now
The vinyl market is not just retail: it is experience, ownership, gift and collection.
The opportunity lies in a place where people linger: listening, looking, talking, drinking coffee, buying and coming back. That is exactly where Fratsen makes the difference.

The shop & its atmosphere

Warm wood, vintage hi-fi and art on the walls. A shop where looking, listening and buying flow into one another.
Live music
The acoustic performances from the old De Smidse are getting a new home — among the records, art and hi-fi. Together with the ZINiN Theatre we are making room for intimate concerts in the shop.
